Thanks for the question.
I believe that these are two different ant species. Neither one is dangerous nor will pose any health issue to you. If they are in your house, just vacuum them up and dispose of the bag. I suspect that both of them have nests outside of your house and are coming in to visit you looking for food.
The first picture looks like a Pavement Ant (Tetramorium immigrans). I assume this is a picture of the ants that you saw flying. At this time of the year both males and females develop wings and leave their original nest. They are looking to mate and start a new nest outside. Somehow they seemed to like your house to do their courtship. Not to worry. They will not nest there. As you discovered, they are attracted to lights. They will not be around for long. See:

The second picture seems to show Odorous House Ants (Tapinoma sessile). Again this is a very innocent ant that is attracted to sugars and other sweet things. Although you may not want to do the experiment, if you captured one and crushed it between your fingers you would be presented with a very strong odor. Your best defense is to maintain high standards of cleanliness in your kitchen and any place where food is stored. Ant traps will have minimal effect. See:

It, too, should be gone shortly.
