Strange brown grass #803116

What is this strange brown grass growing within my regular grass? Has been there spring. Is not dead spot.

The most prevalent lawn issues at during this season are caused by fungi.
Ectotrophic root-infecting or ERI fungi could be a one possible cause.

I don’t believe so.
Both of the publications from Ohio State University refer to OSU Extension Bulletin L-187, Management of Turfgrass Pests, for the most current recommendations.
However, it seems to be updated in 2011 and I am not aware of any more recent publication.

I am not able to recommend any brand names in order to avoid of any commercial conflict of interest.
However, Extension Bulletin L-187 does list quite a few common names for recommended fungicides.
I would also suggest an online search for these to determine the commercial names/manufacturers of these products that would best meet your needs.
I also recommend sending in a soil/plant sample to fully identify the issue before treating it.
