Bur Oak - Yellowing and brown leaves #802537

Asked July 22, 2022, 6:18 PM EDT

Hi
I have 2 bur oaks in my front yard which gets full sun almost though out the day.

The plants are also watered 2 times a week.

Off late, have noticed yellowing on one of the plants and on another browning and shedding of leaves.

Pictures are attached.

Please let me know the cause and remedies if any

Hi Ashish,
The first photo shows typical mild fungal problems that we frequently see when insects damage leaves and a mild fungal problem occurs.
The second photo gives me much more concern.  Those leaves look distinctly different with veinal chlorosis (yellowing of veins, then leaves turning yellow and eventually brown).
Burr oaks are a type of white oak that tends to be resistant to oak wilt, so this is a little surprising. Please consider having a certified arborist inspect you tree for oak wilt.  If you don't have a certified arborist, you can find one through Trees are Good. The link follows.

Hoping I am wrong.  Wishing you are the best!
