Fungi on juniper #801762

Asked July 18, 2022, 11:49 AM EDT

I have an 8' juniper shrub that has started to go bad, and just noticed about six large fungi that are yellow/brown and spongy at the base. There are five of these and this one seems to be the only one that is compromised.

Hi Audrey,  Fungi are generally an indication of additional moisture. Can you send a picture of the planting area at the base of the juniper and tell me how it is being watered, type of irrigation, frequency, etc. so I can further assist? Juniper are low water use plants and can be susceptible to too much moisture.
