holes and tunnels in my yard near foundation #801222

I have attached some pictures of the holes in my yard. In one picture I placed my glasses next to the hole and in another a small key so you could get an idea as to the size of the hole. I am attempting to grow grass around my air conditioner so mud doesn't get splattered on it. I have been battling this for a couple of years. It keeps getting worse and I know I need to do something about it. I live in Portage MI, I am 75 years old and on a fixed income so I am hoping I will be able to take care of the problem myself. Any information on what is causing the problem (mole, chipmunk, gopher, etc.) would be appreciated. I put water down the large holes for over 20 minutes and could have kept at it longer. The water just kept going down the holes so obviously a very large tunnel. Thank you for reviewing my question. Judy Lockwood
