I have tried pulling this weed up but it keeps returning to my leech field. Years ago you recommended Round Up. There must be something less toxic. Please advise.

A tenacious perennial weed with a deep taproot making it hard to pull, and portions of this root left in the ground will regenerate. Fairly pleasant tasting, the leaves are very rich in vitamins, especially vitamins A and C, and can be eaten raw or cooked.

- Combination herbicides containing mecoprop, dicamba and 2,4-D are effective in the control of Curly dock in fall and/or spring.
- Mowing seed heads will suppress spread of curly dock by keeping seeds from reproducing
- Use a shovel to remove crown 2 inches below soil surface
