Any advice on how to improve my Kentucky Bluegrass in my backyard as its under a very shaded area...

I assume you are in Southeast Alaska.  In our region, nice lawns out in the open, with good southern exposure and excellent drainage potential, are achievable with proper establishment and maintenance.  Short of those critical factors, it is an uphill battle. Without direct sun, your lawn is actually looking pretty decent compared to many.   The best step is to give this publication a good read to confirm you are doing the basics of good fertilization, aeration, watering (during these dry spells), liming etc.
