The short answer is, you really don't.

Ants are social insects, and their nests can cover a large area. When they are disturbed, they will split the colony and the end result is even more ant hills in the area.

If you want to try to reduce their numbers, you could use a granular bait near the nest but this will take some time to work and will not entirely eliminate the ants.
