Spots on potato leaves #798385

Asked June 28, 2022, 7:18 PM EDT

I am growing potatoes in containers (baskets, plastic tubs, etc), outdoors. Some of my leaves have developed white spots with a brown ring. Any idea what it might be, cause, solution? Thanks for any input.

Hi,
We think this may be old four-lined plant bug feeding injury. This is a common early-season pest with a wide host range (mostly perennials, annuals, and herbs) that produces a characteristic feeding pattern. If you no longer see it, it has completed its life cycle. There is just one generation/year.
