kale issue #797363

Asked June 22, 2022, 10:06 PM EDT

I have just gotten the flea beetles under control on my kale plants, but now I noticed that the new leaves coming up are deformed and curling. I also noticed a tan scarring around the stem/new leaves. This is affecting nearly all of my kale plants (different varieties in different areas of the garden). Any ideas? Thank you!!

Expert Response

The plants have probably been damaged by Swede midge, a pest relatively new to Minnesota.
