Apple spots #795084

Asked June 09, 2022, 11:45 AM EDT

Good morning! I was out putting little nylon apple socks on my apples this morning to keep apple maggots etc. from laying eggs. I noticed these spots on a few and wonder if they have already laid some under the skin of the apple? Thanks, Pat

Hi Patrick!
It looks to me that you may be correct in that the fruit you pictured, may have already been affected. I found several articles that you may find helpful regarding apple maggot.

You are doing the right thing by covering the fruit, but some of the information provided above may help your treatment plans in the future.

I wish you luck in your apple growing endeavors.  Apples are not the easiest fruit to grow!
