Our law is primarily a blend of tall fescue. We have some odd looking grass like stuff in our lawn. Can you identify it for us and tell us how to control it. Or keep it from showing up?

Expert Response
Grass identification can be challenging. In order to identify what you have there we would need to closer details of the plant.
This weed ID key from Virginia Tech shows characteristics to look for:
https://weedid.cals.vt.edu/selectors/2
Possibilities include Dallasgrass: https://extension.umd.edu/resource/dallisgrass
Orchardgrass: https://extension.umd.edu/resource/orchardgrass
or others.
You don't have that many there right now, so it might be easiest to dig them out by hand.
Perennial grassy weeds are the most difficult to control as it's difficult to do with a chemical but may need to use a non-selective systemic herbicide to kill it back (it will kill the turf it is applied to as well) in the late summer and overseed the area.
