White pine tree #794775

Asked June 07, 2022, 4:54 PM EDT

We need to know if the white pine trees in the twin cities are going pollinate (pop) soon. I want to understand how to identify when the tree is ready to pop. I have to keep the windows closed or the entire house or the inside will be dusted. We guess the big tree in our front yard is over a 100 years old. And don’t know how to tell it’s ready. Do you have any pictures showing me what it looks like before popping? Thank you for a referral or any information you can provide. Sent from my iPad Thanks, Deb Carroll

Tree pollen is high right now an our pines are coating our patio in golden pollen so chances are good your pine is shedding too. Pollen can travel 100 miles so it is coming from somewhere.

This is the best pollen report I could find, a web search of pollen counts has many more data sources. Most report trees, but not by species.
