Taking over backyard.  Is this a weed or blooming perennial?

Thank you for sharing the picture.  This is Bishiop's weed, Aegopodium sp. as you can see it spreads aggressive.  The best way to manage it is to cut the plants back and apply a brush and stump killer with the AI Tricolpyr.  Or you can spray the plants with a Round Up-like product that will kill everything.  It will take a few applications but you'll be able to manage it.

Thank you for this information.  Because of a family dog routinely in the backyard it sounds like lots of weed pulling is the only safe option to control the spread.
