Hi Keith,

First I would like to establish what exactly you have invading your yard. There are 3 plants that are called creeping Jenny as well as various other names. One type is golden Lysimachia nummularia  aka L. zawadzkii), that is used an an ornamental plant. This plant has gold or yellow leaves. The English Lysimachia variety is green and is harder to control. These plants are also called moneywort, herb twopence, and occasionally creeping Charlie. This link has images and information of the plant https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/golden-creeping-jenny-lysimachia-nummularia-aurea/

The third is the lawn weed Glechoma hederacea also commonly called creeping Charlie also called ground ivy, gill-on-the-ground, and creeping Jenny. These links have images and information on that plant https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/creeping-charlie/  and https://www.invasive.org/weedcd/pdfs/wow/monewart.pdf

The creeping Charlie link provides details on changing the growing conditions of the affected area to control creeping Jenny since both types of plants like moist areas it will apply to both. Hand-pulling is also an option if you are persistent in removing all the runners and nodules and dispose of pulled plants.

If you would like to use a herbicide, the link on creeping Charlie lists various kinds that will work on for both kinds of plants. Glyphosate is an option since it will stay localized to the applied area. When purchasing a herbicide be sure to read the product label, the safety details, and wear protective clothing as specified on the label.

I hope this helps.
