Can't solve fungus in lawn #790733

Asked May 14, 2022, 10:48 AM EDT

Hi, I'm stuck trying to rid my lawn of brown rings and patches. For a few years now I've been trying 2 different products (Immunox and Bioadvanced) but my lawn is gradually getting worse (see photos). I use auto sprinklers to water in mornings only. Thank you for your help.

Hi Stacey,
I would suggest try to improve the local environment by aerating the soil.
Also there is tremendous benefit from top dressing with compost.  It improves drainage, helps aerate the soil and makes the environment healthier to help prevent fungal problems.

You may even qualify for a rebate from the City of Austin:

Here is a Texas A&M link on fungal problems in lawn grasses:
https://plantdiseasehandbook.tamu.edu/landscaping/lawn-turf/chemical-controls-for-turfgrass-diseases/
If you click on the link on chemical controls you will notice you have lots of choices on the active ingredients in fungicides.  Both products you have use propiconazole as the active ingredient.  If those aren't working well, consider a different active ingredient.

Wishing you all the best!
