Expert Response
While it's difficult to tell. with certainty, your insects might be:
1. Possibly a yellow mealworm beetle
2. It is difficult to tell from the photo, but this grub could be a European chafer larvae or a Japanese beetle grub. The first link below contains information on treating them. https://extension.umn.edu/yard-and-garden-news/fall-turf-grass-problems-grubs-might-be-culprit
https://extension.umn.edu/yard-and-garden-news/another-invasive-insect-confirmed-minnesota
3. This may be a geometer moth http://www.minnesotaseasons.com/Insects/geometer_moths_(Geometridae).html
Your primary concern is your lawn dying so quickly, and this is likely due to the grubs shown in your second photo. Read the links attached to the second response for detailed information about how to remedy this. Another link that may be helpful talks about grubs and their emergence. While the article talks about Michigan, the content would also apply to Minnesota.
Good luck with your lawn.
