Can you ID this tree? It is a volunteer in a back yard that has some invasive trees in the immediate area. This is on Overhill Road in Ellicott City MD. There is a second tree in this yard that is also a volunteer which we are sending as a separate ID request. This request is coming from Master Gardeners on behalf of a client who has asked us for landscaping help and advice.

** ** I apologize! I mixed up your two questions. This one, with an alternate leaf arrangement looks like Carya, i.e. one of the hickories or maybe black walnut. So sorry for the confusion.
There are so many look-alikes it's difficult to be sure, but we think that this may be an Ash tree.
As you undoubtedly know, Ash trees in our area have been decimated by the invasive Emerald Ash Borer.
