Hi,
I have 2 undesired plants growing in my lawn.
1. Something that appears like a clover. It is expanding across the yard. When I try to pull it, the stem breaks leaving the roots in the ground.
2. Something that looks like crab grass. I can pull big bunches out at once including the roots.
I included pictures of both. How do I get rid of these? Is there a proper season to get rid of them?
Thanks in advance for your help.

To get rid of clover and other broadleaf weeds, here is a link to the steps you need to take. Now is the time to control broadleafs before they flower or set seed: https://cmg.extension.colostate.edu/Gardennotes/552.pdf
To control crabgrass, you have more options of trying to use non-chemical control first, resorting to chemicals if the problem is too severe. This IPM management sheet will take you through the various options that you can choose:

Keep in mind that if you choose chemical controls, Colorado law prohibits use of these products when pollinators are present (bees, wasps,, etc.) You best approach is to read all label directions and apply at sunrise or sunset when pollinators are not present and the wind is calm, so as not to get pesticide drift for your own help and contamination of other plants in your yard.
