sideways tree? #789140

Hello, I just received a multi stemmed serviceberry tree for mother's day. It is in a 3 gallon bucket and but the root ball and the main trunk are parallel to the ground, while the branches of the tree are perpendicular to the ground. How do I go about planting this tree? I don't want the trunk to rot, and rotating it doesn't seem like it's going to be an option.

Plant your serviceberry by removing it from the pot and put it into the ground just as it is.  Be careful not to bury any of the very low branches.  It should be fine.  For more information on planting serviceberries you may find the following articles helpful:
