Hello,
I submitted this question couple weeks ago so maybe you just haven't had time to respond. Curious what tree this is. I planted it before it budded and thought it was a redbud. Clearly it's not. Any help in identifying is appreciated.

Thank you for your question. I looked back in our history and don't see a record of this being submitted before.
I'm not able to ID it at this time, but I'm checking with some other extension agents to see if they might be able to help ID it.
Can you provide a little more information? Where did you get it? Did you dig it up and transplant it or did someone give it to you to plant?

I've checked with a few colleagues. The consensus is that this is some species of Cherry. Possibly a Prunus avium.
It is a cherry species but not sure beyond that until it flowers and fully leafs out.
