Norwegian weeping spruce - needle drop / death? #784306

Asked March 17, 2022, 5:41 PM EDT

In the spring of 2020, we had a local Tree Farm plant our Norwegian weeping spruce.  It seemed to thrive and over-wintered well 2020 to 2021.  In 2021, we used root stimulator and evergreen spikes, and the needle and pinecone growth was good.  I watered well with a hose in Nov and Dec, but in the early part of this year, we noticed a lot of needle drop which only accelerated.  Any idea what is causing this?  Is there a way to save this tree?

Since your tree was planted in the spring of 2020, you may want to contact the professional that planted  your tree or a professional arborist.
