Raising and releasing quail #780741

Asked January 24, 2022, 5:19 PM EST

I will have 43 acres of prairie grasses and flowers next year and would like to increase the quail population by raising and releasing them. From what I am reading the population of this bird is dropping. I don't want to attract hunters but would like to hear their call. So, this is why I am asking if you have recommendations. Also, I am very open to raising other birds for release that you might suggest. Kudos to all of you for reintroducing wild turkeys, and an increasing eagle population. My farm is in Montezuma, and it has three ponds and a small creek that is part of the headwaters of the North English River. My phone number is 304-638-4054 and address is 530 11th Ave. West in Huntington, WV 25701. I am retired and will be spending much of 2022 in Iowa. Steve Wright
