Would March be a good bet?

Expert Response
The seed will not germinate until the ground temperature is above 50. So you would do likely in late March. Just know that any repair work you do this spring, will likely need to be done in September. Grass planted in the spring typically does not survive the summer heat/droughts.

Direct sowing of summer flowers is done after the last frost date and when the soil has warmed up. Our average last frost date is April 20.
