Storing canna lilies #778222

I have pulled up a bunch of canna lilies. I know that I need to remove soil to store them for the winter. But some clumps are very large and it is hard to remove all the soil without damaging the bulb How obsessive do I need to be to clean all the soil off the bulbs?

There are varied recommendations for storing bulbs over the winter. There is no one specific method and you may want to experiment to see what works best for you.
