Laurel Wilt #778184

Asked November 21, 2021, 2:02 PM EST

I think that Kingwood is being hit by Laurel Wilt. Our Redbays are dying in my neighborhood at an alarming rate. We aren’t allowed to burn our trees here but I’m reading that we shouldn’t transport the trees out of the area because of the Rick if infecting other areas. Advice

Harris County Texas

Expert Response

Can you attach some images of the infected trees.

Thanks

I have two thoughts.  First, I would like to visit your site and collect samples - would that be possible?.  Second, I am wondering if freeze damage could be an option?

You can reach me via direct email at <personal data hidden> if you would like me to follow up and see if we can get a proper diagnosis.
