Thanks for your email Joseph. Can you send me a photo of the slugs please? That will help me make some recommendations.
Thank you for the photo Joe. Would it be possible to get a photo of a single slug so that I can identify it. Also where do you live? Knowing your location will also help me make some recommendations.

Thank you for the photo Joe. The culprit appears to be the gray field slug (also known as the gray garden slug). This is one of the most common pest slugs in Oregon but it is unusual for it to occur in such high numbers on homes. Some additional questions for you so that I can get a better feel for the problem:
1. When did the slugs first start crawling on your home?
2. Does it happen every night?
3. Do they have a preference for one part of your home over others?
4. Are there weather conditions e.g. heavy rain that make the problem worse?
5. Are you surrounded by farm land? If so what crops?
6. What have you used to try and control the slugs?
Thanks
Rory
Hi Joe,
I would bet my bottom dollar that the slugs are coming from the field at the back of your house. But I am unsure what is causing them to move en-masse to your property. Sometimes slugs move in large numbers away from a site when they have been poisoned by a pesticide but if that was the case I would expect it to last a week or so but it seems to be a recurrent problem for you. Do you know if the grower has been applying slug bait? The only other explanation is that there is some food source (e.g. algae, moss) or mineral source (e.g. limestone patio) causing them to return. Did you notice any improvement after applying the slug bait?
Best
