jalepeno growth #777077

Asked November 03, 2021, 12:38 PM EDT

I have something growing on the bottom part of the stem of my Jalepeno plant. This plant was originally grown hydroponically then moved to soil with a grow light.

Expert Response

We think that these are likely adventitious root buds. Plants like tomatoes and peppers can grow adventitious (additional) roots from stem areas of plants, which will root when in contact with moist soil and help with stabilization and nourishment.

They are not anything to be concerned about.
