Siberian Iris Dividing/Relocating #775701

Asked October 18, 2021, 12:46 PM EDT

Hi! I am dividing siberian iris to share with someone in North Carolina. They will not be able to be planted right away after digging them up. I know that this is a very hardy plant, but want to know if they should survive up to a week until they can be replanted if they are kept moist. Plan to put each clump into a plastic grocery bag. I appreciate your expert advice!

Expert Response

Sharing plants is beautiful. We think that your lucky friend in North Carolina will be fine planting the clumps that you dig and hold for a week.
