managing prairie meadow #775690

Asked October 18, 2021, 12:05 PM EDT

Is it okay to Brush Hog our prairie meadow in October or November? We have prairie meadows surrounding two ponds. We let it lapse the last couple years, and we have some invasive plants, such as autumn olive, cropping up. Moving forward, what is the best time of year to use the Brush Hog?

Expert Response

Hello Susie,

Since autumn olive will sprout easily, it can be difficult to remove permanently. Here is information that will assist and provide guidance.
