I just received 3 Iris that I ordered in March! I leave day after tomorrow for the winter. Is it better to store the rhizomes in the basement and plant next spring or put them in the ground now? I won’t be here to water. And it’s getting cold at night.

Hello Jane, happy to help.
It's better to plant them now and water well. They should do fine unless it's a desperately dry autumn. Keeping them stored almost guarantees that they won't make it.
Good-luck!

Good-luck!
Shall I soak them before planting?

No need to. Just water after you plant them.
