periennal garden #772718

Asked September 22, 2021, 3:23 PM EDT

My Perennial gardens need some serious attention--- splitting plants, thinning, moving them. I have not had the time nor the expertise to do this. Can you recommend someone in the area who can do this? Perhaps a MSU student who needs the experience and money.

Hello Elizabeth,

Extension provides education and helps you locate reliable sources of information. We do not provide any on site services for homeowners.

There are a few places to look for garden services.

You might contact MSU Horticulture School

The MNLA website lists professional gardeners- http://plantmichigangreen.com/aws/MNLA/pt/sp/home_page

Check classified ads in local publications, such as newspapers and magazines like The Michigan Gardener, available at libraries, and sometimes online.

Check with your local garden clubs, who may have recommendations-

As a side note, some plants are best divided and moved in early spring. See this reference-
