Ground cover removal #772662
Asked September 22, 2021, 11:04 AM EDT
Hello,
I’m having trouble killing a ground cover that has overtaken several flowerbeds and part of my lawn. I purchased my house in May 2021, and began digging out and spraying 2% glyphosate on the groudcover, but it keeps returning. The last photo was taking this morning, just two days after I sprayed roundup on the same area.
Do you have any ideas on how to get rid of this once and for all?
Digging it all out would be impractical as it’s very widespread and intertwined with grass and flowers. Should I try a stronger glyphosate, say 40%?
Thank you very much!

Good Afternoon,
This is looking Canada anemone. This plant spreads quickly once established, and can be opportunistic.

Attached is also a list of weeds that may help identify other weeds.

Good Afternoon,
I wish I could give you a magic answer, but unfortunately I cannot. Removing the entire plant and roots is time consuming with no guarantees. It will be a combination of both digging and treating. You may use some of the options in the the below article like covering the area with black cloth etc. Nothing is absolute and it will probably take a combination action.
