Nasty clover taking over my lawn ! #772604
Asked September 21, 2021, 6:44 PM EDT
I'm in the Powell Gilbert n'hood. Zip 97236. An odd looking clover that is a dark green to brown purple in color. It has a very distinctive, very tiny yellow flower. I have tried to kill it using Scott's spray. That "kills the weeds, not the lawn"
How can I get rid of this ?
Multnomah County Oregon

Joe,
Unfortunately, the plants are not clover, they are very common weeds. Worse yet, they're weeds that forcefully fling their seeds about 6 feet in all directions. As you've discovered, they're resistant to some herbicides.
For more information about Creeping Sorrel (Oxalis corniculatus), including management, see "Creeping Woodsorrel and Bermuda Buttercup" - Click here.
