Peach tree dying #772597

Asked September 21, 2021, 6:15 PM EDT

I recently purched a new home in Bryan and it came with a peach tree on the property. It's planted in a raised bed and doesn't look good. The leaves are turning colors and dropping and the other leaves look like they are curling. I don't even know the age (probably under 10 years) or type of peach tree it is. Could you possibly give me any ideas what might be wrong? I cannot attach pictures for some reason.

Expert Response

Michelle,
There could be one or more of several causes for the peach tree problems. Most are soil related such as poor internal drainage (heavy clay soil), lack of water, excess watering, and nutrient deficiencies/imbalances.
Try emailing me a photo of the overall tree in its setting and some closeups of the foliage in sharp focus to <personal data hidden>
I'll be happy to look them over and assess the situation better.
