backfilling a emptied yellow jacket ground next #772550

Asked September 21, 2021, 2:23 PM EDT

I had treated the hole with soap/water and noticed a major reduction in swarming activity. However, overnight, something dug into get the larva and enlarged the hold greatly (and left a lot of the pieces of the nest on the lawn). Once the nest is empty what is the best way to fill this large hole? I have a few of them in this area, they have become tripping hazards.

Dirt from your own yard would be best or guaranteed pest free garden soil. Commercial garden soil has been a source of invasive earth worms or Asian jumping worms.
