Crape Myrtle Scale #771160

I asked for an ID on these insects on my Crape Myrtle and was told it was a severe case of crape myrtle scale and that I should contact y'all as it may be serious for this plant and others in the area. Could you advise on a course of action for treatment please.

We have them in the Central Texas area.  At this time of year, the best thing to do would be to spray the trees with a high pressure water spray to remove them.  You could also use a scrub brush and bucket of soapy water to scrub them off.  Next spring you'll want to monitor the trees closely and treat when they are in the crawler stage.  You can find more information on control here:
