Hello; Thanks for submitting your garden and landscape questions to University of Maryland Ask Extension.
Your tree is a hickory although I am unable to determine which type hickory it is. The give-away clues were the compound leaves and the nuts attached. See University of Maryland Extension publication https://extension.umd.edu/resource/leaf-key-common-trees-maryland-extension-bulletin-238 and go to page 5 of Bulletin 238 where you can see brief depictions of the various native hickories in our area. Hickories are valuable trees in our area for shade, stature and beauty of the tree, nuts produced for wildlife, and outstanding fall color.
Thanks; Christopher
