Similar to a beer trap, you could make a very watery bread dough, put it in a container with steep sides to attract them where they'll fall in and drown.  A possible recipe might be two tablespoons flour, one half teaspoon brewers yeast, one teaspoon sugar, and two cups water.

You could also place a non-watery bread dough mix (as an attractant) with commercial bait (metaldehyde, iron phosphate) in areas of your garden where you're having problems with slugs and/or snails.

You could also try a no-flour yeast trap mixture in a container with steep sides - 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon yeast.
