There are 2 very common fungal diseases of the Maple tree leaf: Maple Leaf Blister and Maple Anthracnose. Both produce dark, irregularly shaped damaged areas. They are both usually cosmetic causing no permanent damage except some leaf loss. But the tree should leaf out again next year. Following are a few links to University Extension
