bleeding heart #764719

Asked July 29, 2021, 8:23 PM EDT

My bleeding heart is getting curled brown leaves. I have been watering. Should I cut it back?

Expert Response

It is normal for old fashioned bleeding heart to do dormant in summer. The leaves should yellow and die to the ground around this time of the year. It will go dormant earlier if your soil is  unusually dry. Next spring it will return and look healthy again.
