Wiregrass is very challenging to deal with in a lawn and garden setting. Since you are growing vegetable crops here, we recommend using physical removal methods: digging, pulling, and/or smothering with cardboard again. This is a fast grower in the high heat of summer, so it will take a consistent effort to keep it under control.

After your vegetable crops are finished, if you want to knock down the wiregrass that is in the lawn, you have a few more options with chemical control. https://extension.umd.edu/resource/bermudagrass
