Solarization adjacent to existing ornamental perennials #762930

I am currently dealing with a pocket of fusarium wilt and I’m trying to eradicate it from one of my landscape beds. To maximize my efforts I was thinking of solarizing the area after the affected plants are removed. I am concerned that if the plastic sheeting comes too close to the drip line of nearby ornamental plants they could be affected
Note that the area is currently being treated with Thiophanate-methyl if it matters.
Thanks

the fusarium seems to extend along the left side edge of the bed as it has bypassed the sumac on the right side as shown. All sumac on the left edge have been afflicted and removed. I want to cover the open area where the mulch is located with clear plastic to eliminate the fusarium but do not want to harm the dogwood or wigaleas.
thanks
