Autumn Purple Ash question #762714

Asked July 19, 2021, 10:40 PM EDT

We live in Boulder county in Niwot. We have a large full grown Autumn Purple Ash tree that is looking stressed. It hasn’t been pruned in 6 years. We’ve been treating it for EAB since 2017. There are lots of small dead wood branches all over the tree more towards the ends of the branches. I think it also is growing epicormic shoots. The biggest concern is we’ve noticed small brown ‘bumps’ all over the smaller branches on both live and dead branches. They’re easily removable. They are not on the leaves. It looks like a bud was going to grow but looks burnt. See photos.
