Calibrachoa plant #762584

Asked July 19, 2021, 2:00 PM EDT

What has happened to this plant, and what do I do now? Almost half of the plant appears to be dead and has a definite web visible. We watered it daily; it’s on the east side of the house. This happened SO quickly! Is there any saving it?

Expert Response

We can't be sure what's damaged the plant by viewing the photos but based upon what we can see, we suspect spider mites.  Plants affected by spider mites are often covered with webs but the webs are usually flecked with mites or evidence that they have been present.  Although the evidence may be there, we can't see it in the photos.
