Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. Yes, it is not good to have worms in the bird bath. It could be parasites, mosquito larvae,  and bird droppings, could cause the worms. I am attaching 2 links that i think will help you. Make sure not to use chemicals when cleaning your bird bath. I hope this will help you. We need to keep our feathered friends around.
