Creeping Bent Grass Elimination and Control #761096

Asked July 11, 2021, 11:02 AM EDT

I have what I believe is creeping bent grass popping up in random places in my yard (see attached image) and I have read that this is very invasive so want to stay ahead of it.  I have applied round up using an eye dropper to some of it but it’s a teadeous way to address it.  I have read a little about Tenacity, which sounds like it will kill/eliminate bent grass without damaging the Kentucky Blue around it.  Looking for some advice on the best way to eliminate and prevent creeping bent grass.

You are currently using what we recommend. Other recommendations are to improve drainage and grow a drier lawn. A wet lawn will encourage further spread.

Ohio State University does have information on Tenacity (mesotrione) .   See:  https://u.osu.edu/athleticfieldmanagement/2017/04/06/selective-creeping-bentgrass-control/
