Asked July 04, 2021, 9:44 PM EDT

Hello. I searched the michigan.gov site for invasive vines but couldn't find a match for the ones that are overtaking my property. Can you help ID these?

Alcona County Michigan

Expert Response

Hello,

It looks to be Oriental Bittersweet but it is often difficult to identify plants from a picture. Oriental bittersweet is an aggressive vine that can choke trees and take over properties. It is considered an invasive in Michigan.
