My astilbe finally bloomed this year. It had not bloomed since we bought it. It was in beautiful bloom as you can see in the picture. Then all of the plumes turned brown. Is this normal? We see other astible in our area that are in bloom. I am providing before and after photos. Thank you.

Your plants look normal and healthy. Some Astilbes bloom longer than others, so yours may be the ones that have a shorter bloom time. The blooms do turn brown as they fade. Astilbes like consistently moist soil, so make sure they get enough water during this hot spell.
