Snow queen #757595

Asked June 21, 2021, 8:00 PM EDT

I live in Brazoria county here in texas. Like most folks I lost my citrus trees during the freeze several months ago. I've got a fig tree and a pear tree that made it just fine. Anyhow I'm looking to replace at least one of my citrus with a Snow queen nectarine. The only problem is that I can't find one locally. I'm not looking to buy a full grown tree, just something in a gallon size pot. Does anyone happen to know where I can find one? Thank you.

Expert Response

Howdy, and thank you for your inquiry. Most of the retail outlets that generally stock fruit trees in the local area are improving offering for fall sales and may not currently carry the nectarine variety you seek. I have created a list of local area nurseries, garden centers and feed stores and available for download from the Brazoria County AgriLife Extension Horticulture webpage: https://brazoria.agrilife.org/horticulture/. Several regional Texas Master Gardener chapters (Brazoria, Sept. 18; Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris) will host fall plant sales as part of fundraising efforts and may be an option for review and availability.

In the meantime, outlets listed below will generally carry fruiting trees on a consistent basis and some will have their stock posted online:

Caldwell Nursery (Rosenberg; http://caldwellhort.com/)

Buchanan’s Native Plants (Houston; https://buchanansplants.com/http://caldwellhort.com/)

Enchanted Gardens Nursery (Rosenberg; https://www.myenchanted.com/)

Maas Nursery (Seabrook; https://maasnursery.com/)

Wells Florist and Nursery (Sweeny): https://www.wellsflorist.com/

Wishing you all the best, and much success on your search. Feel free to contact me directly if I can be of further service.
